What she's learning

Elli's been exceptionally photogenic the last couple of days, so I guess I have lots of pictures of her. There are been random things she's done that I realize the average American 18 month old girl probably doesn't do. But they are totally normal for her.

This is her favorite snack, and with Ramazaan there were boxes of dates to be found in every little shop. Our friends and neighbors eat dates to break their fast. Elli would eat them all the time if I let her. She knows right where they are in the fridge and will open the door and point to them when she asks for a "snack."

She loves to haul buckets of water! I guess when you do it for 3 months, it becomes an element of life that is fun to imitate. She'll fill the buckets as full as she can carry them and then drag them around the yard.

She figured out the swing and loves to entertain herself swinging like this. I realize that this is not culture/geographic specific behavior. But the picture was fun and I wanted to share it. She is a trooper and typically makes the most of whatever we have; ie: the swing.
