Claiming Insanity

Monday, after a rough afternoon and night without Austin (he was in the capitol), and a pretty choppy morning, the kids and I went down the street to the little neighborhood shop (cause you can't call it a grocery store.)  We came home with nan, cookies, a puppy and some cheap local shampoo- to give the puppy a bath.  Really?  Do we really need a dog?

I told the kids we would have to see what Daddy said when he came home.  But we couldn't pass this cute little puppy on the alley and not rescue her.

White, with brown spots and black patches on her face, we named her Truffles.  Which quickly was shortened to Tuffy.  We've washed the fleas off of her (cause she was covered!!!!) We've flea powdered her and she's wearing a flea color (guess you could say I hate fleas!)  And we're going to keep her.
She's definitely revealed a side of Elias we hadn't seen yet: determined.  When he wants to get her, he doesn't let much stop him.  Can you see his face?  Sheer determination!

And sheer delight!

Yes, you definitely need that puppy! He's so cute, oh my goodness. If I could type using a baby voice I would do so right now!

You're either brave or crazy :). . . matt is out of town and I'm thinking I might have to buy a puppy or go insane. I may just opt for insane since we're about to introduce another family member and I don't want it to be a puppy, I want it to be a little boy :)

What fun to see those pictures! I guess there is no question that the dog will be loved. Reminds me of the Tuffy that was your best friend a number of years ago!

for some reason i find it heart-warming to see another family i living in a foreign place ending up with an unexpected rescue puppy. :) i have loved seeing the joy this little creature of ours brings to my kids...it makes that extra care all the more worthwhile (which is saying a lot since this little one likes to leave presents all over our floor...) enjoy!

just saw all of the recent posts! Loved chatting with you today (though I guess I didn't do much chatting). Our kids enjoyed it and are talking about what they want to show Ethan and Elli next time. :)

I love it! Our pound puppy is also quite good at catching mice outside. :) Could be a side benefit!
