That's right, thanks to some saved up Christmas money, we bought the 6th season of LOST and quickly consumed it! I know that I'm way behind the average TV show viewing audience, but it was kind of nice to be able to watch 2 episodes in a row when we were hooked! But I'm bummed at how lost I still am. So where were they, really? Were they dead? Was it some kind of universalist kind of take on purgatory? And would it really have been so bad to clearly come out and say it?

Brian and I watched the first 5 season on DVD during the summer of '09. That was ALL we did :). We were so excited about the final season and were really hoping that I wouldn't go into labor the night of the finale! Labor would have been better! I really hated not learning anything!!!
I know....it was weird. The island is real..they really lived and died on it. But the "other" reality was after they were dead. Some kind of in-between world to all meet and go to the afterlife together. Strange. I also thought Jacob lost strength in how they portrayed him. We'll have to swap questions sometime.
I had more questions after watching the final episode too. So many of my questions about the show didn't get answered. I like the reunion parts when the characters remembered each other but the whole reunion at the very end was just plain strange, and didn't tie together the show. It was a great show with a great complex plot even if the writers didn't know where they were going with it. I'm glad it's over, just wish I had more answers.
i had such a good grasp on the series after the first few seasons because i went back and re-watched each season during the summer (i know...nerd). but, i just couldn't keep up with that and eventually i started forgetting all of these details and by the end i think my brain was numb. i have no answers.
