Our Valentine's Day

Our friends S & T wanted all the kiddos at their house so that we could have a fun Valentine's Day evening. In preparation for the romantic evening, Austin went to the Hamaam (pubic bath) to clean up for the evening. On V-day it had been a week without water. For only $1.25 he had his own shower room with up to an hour of hot water. He said it was cleaner than he expected.

Where did we venture on the frigid Valentine's day?

We had a great dinner of homemade lasagna (I had to make the ricotta substitute but I was fortunate to have a box of lasagna noodles), sourdough bread that didn't quite rise like it was supposed to in the very cool temperatures and a 2 Liter of Cherry Compote (it's good stuff!) It was great to be able to talk without competition for one another's attention.

It's crazy to think where we may be next Valentine's Day. We may even have to make reservations! :)

Wait a minute, what does the sentence about next v-day mean??? On another note, we are going to be headed to the States earlier than expected because of #5's visa issues. We'll be back in July-Oct. But, I think we'll miss you guys in July...bummer.

The end of our time in Kansas is a little uncertain (currently not too thrilled about coming back to an unwinterized home in the intensity of winter). So we may be dining in a restaurant in America prior to heading back. :) That's all!

Love the picture of Valentine's Day in your world. So grateful you went to all the work to communicate your love and commitment to one another. Rejoicing in the gift you both are to each other!
