A language lesson!

Dishing up our lunch yesterday, I tried to explain to my local friend (and house worker) that we would be having left overs; a little bit of many different things. I asked, "Do you have a word for that" and she confidently answered "Yes, Uncle Ben's (in English)."

What?? I translated Uncle Ben's into Aobistani, "Like that" I asked? And again she agreed. She explained that it's a word used in the 3 languages spoken in Aobistan.

So there you have it, Uncle Ben's is impacting Central Asia. Probably not as he originally intended, as it has nothing to do with rice.
